Groove Daddy
Long for the classic songs of the past.....Groove Daddy is here! Groove Daddy is a band full of professional musicians that have been playing and performing since the 1990s. The band plays everything from the ballads of Motown to the beat of jazz and the sweet rhythm of the blues.
Groove Daddy features Marc Phillips on lead vocals and keyboards. Marc's played
with Hall and Oates, The Little River Band, Toto, Bob Dylan, America, The Dixie
Dregs, Levon Helm (of The Band), Bo Diddley, Chuck Berry, Stephen Stills, Chick Coreas'
Electric Band, Danny Seraphine and Bill Champlin of Chicago, Nigel Olsen and Dee Murray of the
Elton John Band, and Brother Cane. Steve Sample is the drummer for Groove Daddy. Steve has performed
with a vast array of artists including familiar names such as Chuck Berry, Bo Didley, Percy Sledge,
Dizzy Gillespie, Mose Allison, Bob Hope, Joan Rivers, Peter Wolf, Lou Marini, Lew Soloff, Bill Watrous,
Bella Reese, Jack Albertson, Bill Champlin, Gerry Mulligan, James Moody, Buddy DeFranco, Tommy Dorsey
and Jimmy Dorsey. Barry Page plays bass. Joe Terry plays guitar and among his credits are performances
with The Drifters, Wayne Perkins, Percy Sledge and Rock Killough. Joe also sings background and lead vocals.
Rich Daviston plays tenor sax, soprano sax, flute, percussion and helps out with background vocals. And finally,
Mart Avant plays trumpet and flugelhorn for Groove Daddy. He also, along with Groove Daddy bandmate Rich Daviston,
travels North America playing with The Temptations, The Four Tops, and The O'Jays.
